The pillow is manufactured by a Japanese company called Nikken.
It's made from rubberthane which repels dust mites. An allergy to dust mites is often a factor in snoring.
Rubberthane also provides ventilation and disperses perspiration which regulates the temperature of your head throughout the night. An overheated head contributes to snoring.
The pillow is firm and fits the curvature of the neck. This means your head is kept in the right position so the airwaves are not closed off. As a result your breathing is much clearer throughout the night and snoring is reduced.
A lot of snoring takes place when you are not in a deep sleep, which is where the magnets come in. The japanese love pillows contains two types of magnets - unipole and EQL. They surround the head with a magnetic field which works with the body's innate healing properties. This relaxes the body, enabling you to sleep deeply.
Pure Medicine (020 7467 5940) sells the pillows for GBP 100. If you phone with your credit card details it will be delivered within a week.
NUTRITION PATRICK HOLFORD is founder of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in Putney, West London, and author of The Optimum Nutrition Bible THE first thing for snorers to consider is the possibility that they have an allergy. Often snorers are allergic to certain foods, especially dairy products. An allergy makes you produce excessive mucus, which means you are blocked up and therefore snore.
